Genaro Angles has been part of the Tennis for Life program since 2003 when he was a young teenager with a strong passion to learn, improve and play the “SPORT OF A LIFETIME” tennis.
Genaro has carried that strong passion of learning and improving over to teaching and coaching tennis. Genaro has introduced tennis, with proper technique and an understanding of grips to more youth than anyone in the Athens +Oconee Communities!
Genaro started at Tennis for Life as a junior summer counselor in 2004. Today, Genaro is a Head Pro: coaching our Academy program, running the Senior + Coupon clinics and coaching several women’s teams to the Georgia State Championships over the years.
Genaro is certified in 10u Quick Start Tennis aka expert in 10&under, High Performance and Adult Development. Genaro can teach a wide variety of ages and abilities.
Duane Smith
Duane Smith began playing tennis when he was 10 years old and quickly got “Tennis Fever”. Duane played number 1 singles and was awarded the MVP award on his high school team. He received a full tennis scholarship to Truett McConnell College where he played number one singles and again received the MVP award.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Science Education, Duane has taught science and coached tennis at South Gwinnett High School and Grayson High School. Many of his high school teams have won their region and one team won state. Duane has coached many junior and adult ALTA and USTA teams and individual players over the years.
Duane recently retired from full time high school teaching and is looking forward to spending more time on the tennis court. Duane was USPTA certified in 1982 and has spent the last 30 years learning as much as he can about the game. Duane looks forward to helping you improve the physical and mental parts of your tennis game. Hope to see you on the court soon!
