Background:
Ryan was born in Atlanta, Georgia where he attended Chattahoochee High School. Ryan is proud to admit his high school team won the Georgia State Championship in his junior year. Ryan transferred from Ole Miss and is now studying Biology at the University of Georgia.
Tennis
Experience:
Ryan first began to play tennis when he was 5 years old. During his junior years of playing competitively at the state, southern and national levels, Ryan trained at the Tennis Academy of the South with Gery Grolismond
Teaching
Experience:
Ryan joins the Tennis for Life staff with 3 years of teaching experience. Ryan began teaching at Tennis Academy of the South working with junior of all levels of play. In the summer of 2006, Ryan worked with Kenny Thorne at the Georgia Tech Tennis Camps.
Currently, Ryan teaches at Herman C. Michael Park in Oconee County. He is comfortable working with juniors and women’s teams. Ryan is excellent with beginners as well as advanced juniors. Ryan comments, “I have taught for three and a half years now, and I would have to say the most enjoyable thing I have taken from my experience has been seeing players mature. Being able to see my instructions put to use and the players actually apply them is incredibly rewarding for me.” Stacey, the Director of Tennis for Life, would describe Ryan as accomplished, committed, responsible, dependable and most enjoyable!
Hobbies and other Interests:
Reading, writing, movies and of course, UGA football.
