Background:
Rita joined the Tennis For Life family of instructors in the Fall of 2007. She has accepted the position of Teaching Professional at Southeast Clarke Park. Rita is very excited about expanding the junior program on the east side of Athens. She has the 'love' of the game and enjoys teaching.
Tennis Experience:
Rita began playing tennis in 1975 as a freshman at Berry College. She instantly loved the game and played for the college team during her four years there. She continued to play USTA off and on through the 80's-90's at the 3.5 level. She left the organized game as she spent time with her children; however, she has always played the game as a favorite hobby.
Teaching
Experience:
Rita is a retired teacher who spent 30 years in the classroom from 1975-2004. During this time, she coached basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis for girls and golf and tennis for boys. All of her coaching experience has been on the high school level, but her love is working with younger children.
Hobbies:
Traveling, reading, politics, and spending quality time with her 2 grandchildren.
