Junior and Academy Programs LI'L STARS (5-6 yrs): This program will introduce the little player to the game of tennis in a fun and rewarding way. All fundamental strokes will be taught using small racquets and foam balls on special 36ft courts. This program will focus on gross motor skills, coordination, judgment, basic stroke mechanics, and having fun, fun, and fun!(Schedule)
SHINING STARS I (7- 8 yrs): For the Beginner player who has little or no experience and the Beginner/Intermediate who is beginning to rally the ball with a partner. Fundamental strokes, sportsmanship, footwork, scoring and match play are introduced through fun games on a 36ft court. (Schedule)
SHINING STARS II (9-10 yrs): For the Beginner player who has little or no experience and the Beginner/Intermediate who is beginning to rally the ball with a partner. Fundamental strokes, sportsmanship, footwork, scoring and match play are introduced through fun games on a 36ft court. (Schedule)
FUTURE STARS I (9-10 yrs): For the students who have taken a series of basic lessons. Basic strokes are reviewed with an emphasis placed on footwork drills, combining shots and player to player groundstroke rallying. Students will be introduced to tennis scoring and the match play. This class will be conducted on a 60ftcourt. (Schedule)
FUTURE STARS II (11-15 yrs): For the students who have taken a series of basic lessons. Basic strokes are reviewed with an emphasis placed on footwork drills, combining shots and player to player groundstroke rallying. Students will be introduced to tennis scoring and the match play. This class will be conducted on a regulation court. (Schedule)
FUTURE STARS Elite (10&U): Must be RECOMMENDED or EVALUATED by a tennis pro. This program is for the experienced, committed and enthusiastic young player. Clinics will include continued development of technical, rallying and ball tracking ball skills using transitional balls and 60’court. Competitive games, footwork and conditioning are increased. Players are required to play COTA Quick Start Tennis (QST) League. Match fee and USTA membership required. (Schedule)
PRE-ACADEMY (12 & U): Must be RECOMMENDED or EVALUATED by a tennis pro. This program for the young player who has a sound technical foundation and the ability to execute all basic strokes with consistency with a regular tennis ball on a full sized tennis court (72’). This junior has experience, confidence and success playing COTA QST matches. Self-feeding, rallying, competitive games, footwork and conditioning will be utilized to develop an ‘all court game’ at this level.(Schedule)
PRE-ACADEMY (11-15yrs): (formerly Future Star Elite 11 and over) Must be RECOMMENDED or EVALUATED by a tennis pro. This player has graduated from the Future Star program and is showing potential with skill development and excitement for the game of tennis. This player understands all basic strokes, has tracking skills, knows how to keep score and some basic rules. This program is for the player who began playing at the age of 10 or 11 years old, is considering playing high school tennis and is prepared to make a higher level of commitment to tennis. Players are strongly encouraged to play COTA Tennis League and JrARTL (different seasons). Match fee and USTA membership is required for COTA league. (Schedule)
JUNIOR ACADEMY / JA (9-15 yrs): This program strongly emphasises player-to-player groundstoke rallying and execution of strokes with proper technique in order to achieve consistency. Players will participate in local league matches and entry level tournaments.Schedule | Tournament Schedule
TENNIS ACADEMY / TA (11-17 yrs): ): Designed for the serious player striving for a state ranking and participation in varsity high school tennis. The main focus of TA is to maintain a high level of consistency in hitting and conditioning. Court presence and match play strategy are also major focal points of the clinic Schedule. TENNIS ACADEMY TOURNAMENT TRAINING / TATT (13-17 yrs): Designed for players on the varsity high school level or any player who is seeking or has achieved a state, sectional or national USTA ranking. A high level of match play strategy, court awareness and physical/mental conditioning and consistency are strongly empasized and expected at all times.Schedule
JAMBOREE DAYS (8-12 yrs): For Pre-Academy (10&U), Pre-Academy (11-15yrs) and Junior Academy. This is a fun 3 hour program scheduled for when the children only have a half day of school! Tennis games will be the main focus! Mini sets, ‘climbing the ladder’, relay races, video analysis, ball machine, music, and more…will all be included in this fun filled tennis opportunity. Schedule
