A Year In The Academy

Training Season - Mid September, October, November & December
Emphasis is on conditioning, footwork, balance & proper technique
Speed and agility drills will be utilized
Play a couple of tournaments to stay competitive

Our Motto: "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". The harder we work here the more we reap down the road.

High School Preparation - January & February
Emphasis moves to more point playing
Understanding your own strengths and weaknesses and developing a strategy

High School Season, Tournament Preparation - March, April & May
Emphasis on singles and doubles match play
Proper shot selection
Understanding momentum and the flow of a match
Player should compete in high school matches and at least one tournament per month

State Championships (Peak Performance) - June, July & Early August
Players should be at their "best" here (peak performance)
Practices will emphasize lots of point playing and less conditioning (should be in your best shape by now)
Must compete in 2 State Championship tournaments to acquire ranking.
Playing in 1 or 2 championships or challenger tournaments is also recommended

Rest & Recover - Mid August - Mid September
Rest, Recover
Go on vacation
