COTA JUNIOR TENNIS LEAGUE
USA TEAM TENNIS

Match Information | Go to TennisLink

The COTA Junior Tennis League offers an organized format of match play to afford Junior tennis players the opportunity to improve their tennis skills, gain match experience and make new friends.

Any child, ages 8-16, who has completed a required series of group tennis lessons or has undergone an on court evaluation may participate in match play. This player has mastered the basic skills of tennis and knows the fundamentals of keeping score, singles and doubles strategy, and the competition of team play.

Team tennis is offered at various locations in Athens and the surrounding counties. Players are assigned to a practice group that reflects their level of play. Practices are held weekly. Currently practices are held at Bishop Park and Southeast Clarke Park (Athens) and Herman C. Michael Park (Watkinsville). There is a fee for these practice sessions. (www.tennisforlife.net)

Matches are played weekly at Bishop Park (Athens) and Herman C. Michael Park (Watkinsville) and Oconee County High School (Watkinsville) at the present time. Additional match sites will be added as the League grows.

The fee for participation in match play is $25.00 per season. This fee is to be paid to COTA Jr. Tennis League and may be dropped off at Bishop Park or Herman C. Michael Park or mailed to coordinator. Matches are played weekly in the Fall (September) and Spring. (March). Each season lasts approximately 6 - 8 weeks.

Players who wish to participate in match play must be members of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Membership is NOT included in practice or match fees. (Go to www.USTA.com) Junior memberships are available for $18.00/year. (Jan 1, 2006) Family memberships are also offered.
