TIE-BREAKER (GAME)

The tie-break operates when the score reache 6 games all in any set.

1.

The person (or pair, in doubles) who first wins seven points in the tie-breaker shall win the game and the set provided they lead by a margin of 2. If the score reaches 6-all, the game continues until this margin of 2 is achieved. Numerical scoring is used for the tiebreaker.

2.

In singles and doubles, the player whose turn is it to serve next shall be the server for the server for the first point. In singles, the opponent shall be the server for the second and third points and thereafter each player shall serve alternately for two consecutive points until the winner of the game and the set has been decided. In doubles, each player shall serve in rotation for 2 points in the same order as played in the set, until the winners of the game and set have been decided.

3.

From the first point, each serve shall be delivered alternately from the right and left courts, beginning form the right (deuce) court. Since the first server serves only one point, subsequent servers serve first from the left (ad) court and then from the right (deuce) court. (If an error of serving side or player occurs, the already played points stand as is, but the error should be corrected as soon as it is discovered).

4.

Players change ends after every six points and at the conclusion of the tie-break game.

5.

The tie-break count as one game so the set score becomes 7-6 or 6-7.

6.

The player (or pair of players in doubles) whose turn it was to serve first in the tie-break game shall receive service in the first game of the following set.

THIRD SET TIE-BREAK In lieu of a third set (also known as a 10 Point Tie-Breaker or Match Tiebreak)

As above, except it is the first team to win 10 points by a margin of 2. The third set score is recorded as 1-0.

LETS

If a ball rolls on to your court during a point you may call a “let” and restart the point.

If your ball rolls onto or behind an adjacent court, you must wait until those players have finished playing their point before retrieving the ball.
